Over the past year, when life events caused my spirits to plummet, I chose to run.
Running is an escape; it provides contemplative time, creating the meditative space I find so difficult to grasp sitting cross-legged in a quiet room. Running brings me out of my head-space and into my body. I feel things rather than simply think about them. In this space, I find it easier to notice and hear the intuitive response – that small nudge, the gut reaction. And it helps me find my way back to joy.

Early tomorrow morning, I’ll shoe up, go outside, and run before work.
Because it makes me happy. 🙂
with joy in running,
